Precision Engine Block Line Boring Solutions
ARA Engine uses the latest line boring machines to restore worn-out and damaged line bores with maximum precision.
Our onsite premises are located in the Greater Western Sydney region. Using the latest line boring technology manufactured by world-class providers, we deliver quality line boring and line honing services to meet the specific needs of private, commercial and industrial clients.
Over time, engine blocks can become worn, damaged and out-of-round, causing engine block bearings to seize and spin. ARA Engine provides comprehensive resizing and alignment services for diesel, petrol, locomotive and marine engines, helping restore your engine block to precise factory-quality tolerances.

Precision Line Boring Technology
ARA Engine uses the latest line boring and line honing equipment to restore worn main bearing tunnels and other critical engine block surfaces with maximum accuracy.
The AMC Schou L2500V Line Boring Machine can resize main bearing bores up to 110mm in diameter and 2540mm maximum length, with a spindle speed of 0–750 RPM for precise control and a smooth, accurate finish.
Restoring main bearing bores to the correct specifications can:
Correct bore alignment so crankshafts and cams rotate smoothly
Increase the lifespan of the engine block
Help main bearings resist warping caused by temperature changes
Restore worn and damaged bores to factory-quality tolerances
For line honing, the Sunnen Line Hone CH1000 has a diameter range of 46–178mm and can remove less than .003” of material from the caps, making it highly effective for correcting warping, distortion and misalignment.
